Co-op shifts
Schedule cook and clean shifts, auto-assign, and let members swap
What shifts are for
Co-op houses staff their own meal service. Shift scheduling turns each meal's serving window into work shifts and assigns members to them.
Configure shifts
In shift settings, set the shift length and how many members each shift needs. Add hour overrides when a busier hour needs more crew, and optional pickup and drop-off shifts that bookend the serving window.
Auto-schedule
Auto-schedule a week and the system slices each enabled meal's window into shifts and spreads members evenly — least-loaded first, and never double-books anyone into overlapping shifts. Re-running keeps existing assignments and only fills the gaps.
Reassign & swaps
- Admins can reassign — add or remove members from any shift.
- Members can request a swap on a shift they're assigned to; another eligible member taps Cover this shift to take it over.
Members see their shifts on the Shifts page in Meals and get notified about reassignments and covered swaps.
Shifts and posted menus work together. A co-op can publish its weekly menu (see Menus) and schedule the cooks for the same services — the two aren't mutually exclusive, so enable whichever your house needs.
