Profile Settings
Control which profile fields are visible, required, and need approvals
What Are Profile Settings?
Profile Settings let admins control which fields members see and fill out on their profiles. You can enable or disable optional fields, require admin approval for sensitive changes, and manage committees — all from one place.
Always-On Fields
These fields are always visible and cannot be disabled:
- First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number, Birthday, Profile Photo, Emergency Contact
Optional Fields
Toggle these on or off depending on what your chapter needs. When disabled, the field is hidden from the edit profile page for all members.
- Hometown, Major, Graduation Class, T-Shirt Size, Bio
- Instagram, Twitter/X, Venmo, LinkedIn
- Committee (disabled by default)
Approval Requirements
For sensitive fields, you can require admin approval before changes go live. This is available for:
- First Name / Last Name: Prevents unauthorized name changes. When enabled, name edits go to a pending state and appear in the Member Management approvals tab.
- Profile Photo: Ensures appropriate photos. New uploads are held until an admin reviews them in Member Management.
How the Approval Flow Works
When a member changes an approved field:
- The change is saved as "pending" — the old value stays visible to other members.
- The member sees a banner on their profile indicating a change is awaiting review.
- Admins review the request in Member Management and approve or deny it.
- Members can cancel their own pending requests at any time.
Committee Management
When the Committee field is enabled, admins can create and manage a list of committees that members select from on their profile. Default committees include Executive Board, Social, Rush, Philanthropy, and Alumni Relations.
You can add custom committees, rename existing ones, or delete them. Before deleting, the system shows how many members are assigned and offers to remove the assignment automatically.
Member Settings (Non-Admin)
Members can access their own settings from their profile. These are personal preferences, not chapter-wide:
- Security: Change password, change email, enable biometric login (Face ID / Fingerprint on mobile).
- Notifications: Enable or troubleshoot push notifications, clear device tokens.
- Appearance: Switch between System, Light, and Dark theme modes.
- Account: Sign out or permanently delete account.
